Drayton House has some exciting opportunities for qualified Early Years Practitioners to join our enthusiastic team.

We are passionate about childcare, and are looking for practitioners who are keen to help children to further their development, learn about their world, grow in confidence and acquire social skills.

We are a small, unique and friendly day nursery/pre-school in Guildford. We have been established for over 35 years and pride ourselves on our high standards of professionalism and care. We are looking for someone to join our team who has a passion for working with children under 5 years, has a flexible approach and shares our good sense of humour.

All applicants should have a Level 3 childcare qualification and a good knowledge of the EYFS, together with experience of working with young children. Our staff is comprised of a wide range of age and experience and our turnover is generally below average. Together, we function as a happy and effective team.

Hours are usually a combination of 8am to 6pm and 8am to 3pm over 4 or 5 days. We are also looking for an experienced practitioner to cover our aftercare session from 3pm to 6pm daily.

Holiday Staff

We are looking for a happy, energetic and adaptable person to help us during the summer holidays with various hours of work between 8am and 6pm across all the age groups of our nursery. The ideal person would possess a relevant childcare qualification plus some level of experience and would be able to work at short notice on occasions, although some hours will be predetermined in advance.

Early Years Practitioner

We are seeking an Early Years Practitioner to work with children aged between 9 months and 4 years. Experience with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) planning is preferred. The applicant should be willing to work within a structured environment with regular day-to-day routines, and enjoy designing activities that meet the learning needs of the children.

We are a warm and friendly Nursery School and pride ourselves on our standards of professionalism. As a member of the team, you will work together with all staff to maintain these standards and to support each other.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum 1 years experience working with this age range. They will be fully conversant with the requirements of the EYFS and enjoy using their creative skills to provide children with access to broad range of experiences. The ability to play a musical instrument would be an advantage, as is a good sense of humour!

The Nursery is open for 51 weeks of the year, starting at 8am to 6pm. We are looking for someone to work 4 days 8am to 6pm with 1 day 8am to 3pm. Preferred qualifications: NNEB, EYPS, Level 3 or equivalent. Please note, we would only consider applications from the Surrey area.

Early Years/Aftercare Professional

We are seeking an Early Years/Aftercare Professional (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) to join our nursery team to help with supervising tea-time and after school activities with children aged 6 mths-5 years. The hours will be Monday to Friday, 3pm to 6pm.
